Veggies for fat

In the “buffet of life” there are certain things we do every day not knowing the impact it may have on our health, such as chronic dieting.  We run ourselves ragged,  can’t seem to get enough sleep and wonder why we can’t lose that extra belly fat and keep it off.   Before we know it we can become riddled with stress, confusion and weight gain.  We tried everything or so we thought.

Vegetables can help to shrink belly fat and promote weight loss in so many great ways.  In addition to helping us feel fuller longer, vegetables also help promote weight loss by being rich in many powerful antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and phyotochemicals.

1-Add Cruciferous vegetables to our plate!

Cruciferous vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, Kale and cauliflower. These are the most useful in helping us  burn belly fat… They contain phytonutrients to counter the influence of exogenous estrogen.

2-Add Ginger to our meals. Fresh Ginger has been found to help accelerate metabolism and assists in the digestion of food.

3-Because vegetables contain high amounts of antioxidants, the more we eat, the more we increase our defense mechanisms against free radicals.. When the body’s natural antioxidant defense system works well so does its ability to handle insulin. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2684512/

Sugar and refined foods only add more belly fat.  Belly fat drives insulin levels up and testosterone levels down.  Don’t let belly fat interfere with your sex life.

A good thing to remember is- eat plants first. The average American eats over 160 pounds of sugar a year.  Avoiding the causes of belly fat and increasing what fights belly fat is key.

We must seek out healthier habits and balance our blood sugar levels by avoiding  inflammatory foods or inviting free radicals into our home, while adding new and delicious foods to our plate.
