Vegetables and fruits are not our enemy. Carbohydrates are our primary source of energy, and without them we would have a very hard time doing much at all. As with calories, not all carbohydrates are created equal. Processed, refined simple carbohydrates like white rice, white pasta, cakes, cereal, bread and biscuits etc. are the bad guys. They are stripped of their nutrients and convert straight to sugar. Whole food complex carbohydrates like fruits and veggies are important elements of a healthy diet.
Eat leafy green salads at every meal. Even if you do eat wild fish, have a salad with it! Greens fill you up, aid in digestion and are a powerhouse of nutrition. You can put them in stews, or blend them with fruits for amazing smoothies. Greens are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet.
